Goa
In July 2015, shortly after graduating from university, I packed up a large backpack and moved across the world to Goa, India for an internship at a small branding agency. After a couple months living in Goa, I spent a few months on a solo backpacking trip around the country. My solo journey across India as a wide-eyed 23-year-old was (and will probably always be) my all-time favorite travel experience.
Goa was a perfect start to my introduction to India. Most of my days in were spent working, but any chance I had free time was usually zipping around the jungle-like streets on my scooter and exploring every beach I could find. And eating all of the butter chicken and watermellon juice I could lay my hands on.
Kerala
After 3 months in Goa, I packed up my backpack again to explore the rest of India. I started my journey by adventuring down south to the beautiful & lush state of Kerala.
Hampi
From Kerala I went back up to Goa and then directly east into Karnataka, where I spent a perfect week wandering the ruins of Hampi, an ancient village along the River Tungabhadra.

Mumbai
The bustling city of Mumbai was a big (but welcomed) change after a few months of exploring India's smaller towns and villages.
05 FEZ
Fez is a city that indulges all five senses, and this last stop in Morocco was filled with good food, friendly people, and happy surprises.

Udaipur
From Mumbai I went north to Udaipur, which is still to this date one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. My days were spent wandering the streets and City Palace, and gazing over Lake Pichola.
Pushkar
The small town of Pushkar was next on my agenda, which was filled with beautiful temples and colorful streets.

Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer, aptly named "The Golden City," felt like it was preserved in time. The highlight of my time here was an overnight camel ride through the Thar desert, where I slept on the sand under the stars.
Jaipur
The colorful capital of Rajasthan was full of history and beautiful architecture.
Jodhpur
Similar to Jaipur, Jodhpur was full of history and rich culture.
Agra
I couldn't visit India without paying a visit to it's most famous structure, the Taj Mahal.
Delhi
One of my last stops in India was Delhi, where I stayed with my friend and her family in time for Diwali celebrations. Seeing Delhi through the eyes of a local during one of India's most festive holidays is one of my favorite memories from this trip.

Varanasi
Known as the spiritual captial of India and located along the Ganges River, Varanasi was my last stop in India and one of the most interesting stops on my trip.
